Muskegon Oakridge Gives City of Muskegon Another Title

Muskegon Oakridge's 26-14 win over Ovid-Else gave the city of Muskegon its third title in three tries at this weekend's Michigan high school football championships. In addition to winning the school's third championship in four years, the Eagles stopped the state's top running Chris Robinson from setting a new single-season rushing record. Robinson needed 164 yards to break the record, and Oakridge held him to 117-yards on 14 carries. Click here for a game story.

Traverse City St. Francis Improved on 2007 Silver Medal to Win Michigan's Division 7 Crown

2007 Division 7 runner-up Traverse City St. Francis is now the reigning 2008 champ. The Gladiators beat Ubly 41-13 Saturday to win the title. Click here for a game story.

Muskegon Adds To The Its Tradition

Michigan's winningest program added another state championship trophy to its case Friday. The Muskegon beat Warren DeLaSalle 34-14 to win the Division 2 title. It's the school's sixth since the state's playoff system began, and 17th overall. Click here for game story.

Holland Christian Top Michigan's Division 4

Holland Christian quarterback A.J. Westendorp was nearly perfect Friday in leading the Maroons to a 35-20 win over Detroit Country Day in Michigan's Division 4 state championship game. Westendorp set state finals records for completions, passing yards and total yards with a 26-for-33 performance for 318 yards. He had 426 yards in total offense. The victory gave the school its first title in just six years of varsity play. Click here for game story.

Montague Finally Wins Michigan High School Football Title

After three state semifinal losses and a loss in the 1992 state title game, Montague captured the school's first ever high school football title Friday with a 41-20 win over Leslie. The Wildcats took control of the Division 6 title game by racing out to a 21-0 first quarter win. Click here for game recap.

Muskegon Catholic Central Captures Michigan Division 8 Crown

Muskegon Catholic Central won the battle of the unbeatens beating Crystal Falls Forest Park 40-0 to win the Michigan Division 8 high school football championship Friday. Six different players scored for the Crusaders, who outgained their opponents 523 total yards to 129.
